Appalachian Energy & Green Partners propose largest application of solar thermal technology in U.S.

FLETCHER, N.C., Dec. 10, 2007 – Green Development Partners LLC and Appalachian Energy Inc., a pioneer in renewable energy services, have partnered to develop Rivercane Village on Cane Creek, a 38-acre, mixed-use community. The unique partnership will enable Appalachian Energy to invest over $2 million in solar energy infrastructure to manage up to 80 percent of the development’s energy needs related to heating, cooling and water heating. Rivercane Village would be the largest residential application of solar thermal technology in the country.

Appalachian Energy Opens Renewable Energy Services Company Division for North Carolina Restaurants

Asheville, NC. October 17Th 2007 – Appalachian Energy has opened the Renewable Energy Service Company division to the restaurant and fast food industries for hot water service. The restaurant and hotel industry are the largest energy consumers in the US as an industry. Hot water generation is the 2nd largest operating expense for hotels and restaurants. As a leader in the renewable energy, Appalachian Energy has joined the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association to bring their solar hot water service to the fast food industry.
