WNC’s Largest Heating and Cooling Company to Offer Solar SystemsMcNutt Service Group will now offer and install Appalachian Energy’s renewable energy systems and solutions to customers in Western North Carolina.Fletcher, NC August 15, 2007 – Solar heating and cooling has arrived in WNC. McNutt Service Group, the largest heating and cooling service company in WNC, will now offer and install Appalachian Energy’s renewable energy systems and solutions. This is another example in a growing trend of green market solutions for consumer needs. “With Western North Carolina becoming a hub for green industry companies, this partnership is an exciting equation for explosive growth of jobs and green energy,” says Scott Clark, CEO of Appalachian Energy. McNutt Service Group will be the only HVAC company in Western North Carolina providing solar hot water and heating equipment. This will provide the biggest value in the solar thermal industry to the consumers. Travis Bryenton, Appalachian Energy VP of Sales & Marketing, had this to say about why they chose McNutt, “We needed a professional service group who is known in the community for superior service. McNutt has the ability to do residential and commercial projects, as well as, offer financing for both.” Reed McNutt, President of McNutt Service Group, took a big picture view about their decision to partner with Appalachia Energy, “As our region continues to experience population growth and we see increased pressure on our energy infrastructure, innovation and diversity in energy use becomes more and more important. We feel solar energy is a very cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to replace a large portion of our conventional energy sources. Appalachian Energy’s solar equipment is by far the best engineered and manufactured in the world.” Homeowners choosing to go green can expect to save $800-$1000 a year in energy savings. In addition to lower bills, installing a solar energy system on a home will increase its value by an average of $20,000, as found by an NC Department of Energy study. Appalachian Energy residential solar energy systems harness the sun to heat the home and provide hot water. Their system is cost-competitive up front with traditional systems, and as an added benefit, customers get great energy savings from day one. Since their formation in 2001, Appalachian Energy has increased energy production in North Carolina more than 2100 MWH, which provides enough power for over 650 homes. They have designed and developed solar energy systems that reduce heating and cooling costs for commercial and residential markets up to 65 percent annually. Consumers can now find solutions to the growing concerns about environmental sustainability, greenhouse gases, and energy bills right here in WNC. “These are the kind of private sector partnerships we need to address our air quality issues and to do our part to address climate change,” Bill Eaker, Environmental Services Manager for Land-of-Sky Regional Council. Representatives from Appalachian Energy and McNutt Service Group will be at the Southern Energy and Environment Expo 2007, August 24th -26th at the Western N.C. Agricultural Center.
